Hello RKNEALE,

I think you may have to work at excluding it from the scan, as an interim
measure.

Tools, general settings, scroll down to advance settings, and hit the add
button.

When you make a change to one of those settings, there is a Save button
(save/cancel) at the very bottom of the window that should become active--you
need to hit that save button.

Thank you. This post was helpful to me! However, could you provide further
info on the subject?

Was the 'Always Allow' option left out of the product on purpose? I know
this is an option that the product should have because the help documentation
for the program states that this is the option to use to 'Always Allow'
something being blocked. Perhaps a simple re-write of this help content is in
order until the option is put back in to the product?

Below is a copy of the help doc for the 'Always Allow' option:

Add or remove items from the Windows Defender allowed list

If you trust software that Windows Defender has detected, you can stop
Windows Defender from alerting you to risks that the software might pose to
your privacy or your computer. To stop being alerted, you need to add the
software to the Windows Defender allowed list. If you decide that you want to
monitor the software again later, you can remove it from the Windows Defender
allowed list at any time.

To add an item to the allowed list
The next time Windows Defender alerts you about the software, on the Action
menu in the Alert dialog box, click Always Allow. If you are prompted for an
administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide
confirmation.

To remove an item from the allowed list
Click to open Windows Defender.

Click Tools, and then click Allowed items.

Select the item that you want to monitor again, and then click Remove From
List. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation,
type the password or provide confirmation.

Warning
Do not allow software with severe or high alert ratings to run on your
computer because it can put your privacy and the security of your computer at
risk.

When Windows Defender alerts me about a problem with the software, I do not
get an action menu to be able select "always allow". I have gone into
tools/options/advanced andadded the program to the list, but it still gets
flagged. Anyone have any ideas.
