Allow coping of Word Forms

I created a Word form that includes form fields and references that will be
used by multiple people to generate a series of welcome letters. Therefore I
want to protect the body from changes; however a copy of the forms needs to
be included in our database system as well. Is there a simple way to allow
coping of the form (to copy and paste into our database system), without
removing the protection?

You create the form as a template. Each user creates a new document based on
the template. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm and especially
the forms tutorials by Dian Chapman that this article links to.
