Allocating specific network printers to users

We have XP Pro machines networked to a Win2000 server. We want to allow members of a Security Group - Global to print to specific network printers.

Also, we have set wallpaper (and enabling Active Desktop) to this Group in Group Policy but still this wallpaper does not come up.

We have read much about Group Policy etc and Profiles but cannot see where to start.

1. Simply assign Print permission to the groug from the security tab in the
printer properties.

2. You don't assign group policy to a group. You create a group policy
object and link it to an domain, organizational unit or site. All computer
accounts or user accounts below the link will get the policy.

1. I did assign the printer permission but I was asking whether there was any way of just displaying a certain set of printers in 'Printers And Faxes' to a particular Security Group on many machines.

2. Sorry about that, I got confused but my problem still applies. Although we have set wallpaper (and enabling Active Desktop) to these users in Group Policy but still this wallpaperis not displayed to these various users . Resultant Set of Policy suggests that the new policy is set correctly. It seems old policies (set on the machine) are being overwritten by new ones set from the server??
