All saved emails lost?

I had a problem in outlook where everytime I moved or deleted an email it
would automatically exit out of outlook. I tried to fix this by: Going to
Help>>Detect & repair>>Discard my customized settings & restore default
settings. It didn't fix the problem but instead wiped all my importantly
saved emails from all folders.
Does anyone know how I could possibly find them again or have I lost them
for ever?

You haven't lost them you just set up a new Personal Folder. Use File, open
OL data file on the menu in OL to find your previous pst file. Drag items to
the new pst file and use that one if it works better. Then close the old one.
To reopen just select it from the File, open menu. You might run scanpst on
the old file to correct any errors. You can also name the pst files diff
names to distinguish between them.

Also, since you have important emails, do take a backup of your PST
folder from time to time. Otherwise you don't have any way to get your
messages back if anything happens.
