All of my programs are *Not Responding*

Using XP but my system seems very unstable. When I'm browsing the net and
try to type an address in the address bar my pc freezes, then it is not
responding then I have to shut it down the program. I'm also having lots of
trouble when I want to shut down my system, it rarely ever shut down
normally. I keep having to click on "end now." this is happening very
frequently. Tried scanning my pc with mcafee but cannot find a problem. I
also defraged all of my hard drives(s) without a problem. Is there any other
way I can try to find my problem?

I have split my hard drive into 3 partitions but I have lots of free space
on all 3. Could this maybe be a problem?

Hi,

Download, install, and update these:

Adaware www.lavasoft.de
Spybot www.safer-networking.org

Then restart the system in Safe mode and run full systems scans with them.
