Switched on my pc this morning to find sound not working. Checked device
manager & found the WinMM WDM Compatability driver is marked with (!) Driver
corrupted & code 39. Driver cannot be re-installed.

Advice on next steps to restore my sound please.

Use Device Manager to uninstall the device, and then
re-boot.
