All New Appts save as current date

Running O2K3 on WinXP.

Outlook calendar appointments default to the current date no matter the
selection when creating a new appointment. The date on the calendar shows
bold as if the appointment were saved correctly, but when you goto that date,
nothing appears. If you check the current day, the appointment you just
created for the future now appears. I have reinstalled office, deleted the
normal.dot, and disabled cached mode. I am trying not to rename the user
profile just yet. Any thoughts?

I had the same problem and here's what I did to fix mine:

I removed my exchange server from my outlook profile and directed outlook to
put all messages in my pst.

i started outlook, made an appointment for next week and it stuck on the
future date (on the pst calendar of course).

I closed outlook, then reattached my exchange server to the profile, then
restarted Outlook.

I directed all mail to be delivered to the exchange mailbox.

I set an appointment on the calendar on my exchange mailbox calendar and it
stuck on the future date.

Maybe this will work for you too?

Thank you for the suggestion. I was so close to making it work. I created
the new PST for direction of mail, then opened outlook and yes.. it was
working under the new file, but then redirecting it back to the original only
brought the issue back. How can I fix the original?

Thank you for your answer.

I'd try a new mail profile.

OK.. I have now tried removing the mail profile (deleted all outlook files
associated with user's profile, deleted or removed all pst files), ran
scanpst on all pst's and ost's, Even copied everything into a new pst so I
could delete everything...

Yet it still comes up broken. I'm beginning to think the exchange mailbox
is corrupt.

Thanks for the reply.

Maybe another option would be to 'bump' the exchange mailbox by moving it to
a different storage group if possible?

Just a thought, not sure it would work but something to try before
re-creating the mailbox.

Of course, that's not the same thing as creating a new mail profile. DO
that from the Mail applet in Control Panel.

Try it with Outlook Web Access or from another PC. If it fails there, then
it's likely the mailbox. If it doesn't, then it's likely the one PC and its
mail profile.

FIXED! I called the exchange admin. He found path and view errors which he
fixed on the exchange side. It's working now. Thank you all for your help
and suggestions.
