all my outlook 2007 signature files all have 2 line returns at top

Every time I insert a signature into an email using outlook 2007, I
have to backspace twice to move
the text up, otherwise the actual email has a big blank area above
it.

hmmm this is harder to explain than I thought. for a better idea of
the issue, if you type out an email with the first line "Hello Bob",
now move the cursor to the beginning of the word "Hello", and now hit
Enter twice. Thats how all of my signatures start, and I have to
manually put the cursor in front of "Hello" and backspace twice to
make it look right. I have deleted and manually recreated my
signatures, checked the actual signature files, and i dont find any
indent, line returns, bad spacing etc. So I'm stumped, and hoping
someone here with more knowledge than i has an answer.

signatures always leave some white space so you don't type in the signature
block. Try adding -- (2 dashes) in the first line of the signature so you
can see where it begins. Typically, there is blank line between the message
and sig - leaving some white space, like seen in this message.

Now, if you have the -- to mark the beginning of the sig and there are blank
lines under it, remove them from the sig.

well that didn't really work either, it removed my excess lines at the
beginning of the post, but i inserted a couple extra lines at the
beginning of my reply to try to illustrate the issue a little better

so you aren't really using them as signatures, but as boilerplate text? In
outlook 2007, use quick parts (Insert ribbon) for boilerplate and use
signatures as signatures.
