all ide drives are asking for drivers? no such thing please help,

hi

i have a gigabyte board, trying to run vista, was all ok till i decided to
install a few new deviced eg dvd rom, ide hard drives, now asking for drivers
for them, wont recognise any usb device goes looking for drivers? even for a
simple usb memory stick or a video camera via firewire? can any ione help,
amd dual core, gigabyte board,

Did you install the motherboard drivers? If not, there's your problem.
Check on the Gigabyte website for that specific model board for Vista
drivers. If you did install the drivers, see if there are any updated ones.

The usual fix is to delete this file, which has been corrupted:
C:\windows\inf\INFCACHE.1

You must first edit its file permissions to grant Full Control to the
Users group before you will be able to delete it.
