How can I make all the folders within a folder show their contents as
"List", and yet still have the main folder that contains them view as
"Tile"?

Thanks.

Are the subfolders static or are you continually creating new ones? If static, they should retain
their view settings like any other folder.

If you have turned off 'Remember each folders view settings', the icon style of the current folder
will be applied to the view of each folder you browse to from that window, even if the folder
browsed to has a different icon style in its saved view.

If you want to apply a particular view to a folder & all its subfolders, I've written a script for
that:

If you a trick that will apply list view to newly created folders, it can be done, but I don't have
a script for it right now, I'd have to walk you thru some registry editing.

Thanks for all suggestions.

I have folder A that contains folders x, y & z. I'd like for x, y & z
to appear as small folders (as in View/List). However, I'd like for
folder A to appear as a full-sized folder (as in View/Tile).

Is this possible (without having to individually change the View of
every single x, y & z folder)?

P.S. And thanks, Keith, very much for offering me your script, but I
don't want folder A to have the same appearance as the folders it
contains. I probably didn't explain exactly what I wanted clearly
enough.

I understand what you wanted, but if you have 100 subfolders, isn't it worth it to change the parent
long enough to run the script to set all the subfolders, then change the parent back.

But if you're not in a big hurry, hold on, I've realized a better way to implement the script.

Yes, it's worth it. Thanks.
