All email becomes RTF in the outbox

I have a problem with my email. Everytime I send something with an attachment
it automatically changes to RTF when going into the outbox, even though my
default is Plain text, and I have plain text selected in all my contacts. Any
ideas!?
 
I have since found that it happens with all mail. Attachments or not! There
must be a problem here. The other computer I use, which is set-up in the same
way works fine.
