All contents of C:\ read-only; will not unset.

Everything on C:\ including all subdirectories is set as read-only. It will
not unset, nor will using attrib work. I hope its just an error in the
registry or something like that because this is really hindering my work
since I can't save anything or download anything. Even having cookies set is
a bitch.

If you uncheck the Read-Only attribute, Windows will prompt you to confirm

You have chosen to make the following attribute change(s):

unset read-only

Do you want to apply this change to this folder only, or do you want to
apply it to all subfolders and files as well?

Click the option that you want, and then click OK.

Basically this means nothing for folders.

Sorry, none of these worked in my situation. I don't know what the deal is.

This may seem like a silly question, but how do you know that it is
Read-only? It seems odd to me that Windows can start if the partition
is read-only. Is there a message? Please give more information if you
can.

Cheers,

Cliff
