can't unset read-only attribute

J

Jeff Suchy

i am trying to use a shared folder on a small lan.
no matter what i do, the read only attribute is always
set.
i will unset the attribute and the other machines can use
the folder for a short while, but will error out after a
few minutes.
i then go look at the share properties and it claims read-
only again.
i have tried the attrib -r command, but that didn't work
either.
does anyone have a solution or work around?
the machine has xp pro/fat32
