all 16 digit numbers end up with 0

Every time I put a 16 digit number in excel the last number changes to 0 and
I cannot figure out a way to keep the original number. I have tried
formatting the cells to no avail.

Excel supports only 15 significant digits. To enter a longer
number, such as a credit card number, precede the number with an
apostrophe. Any arithmetic you do with this number is still
limited to 15 digits.
