Hi All
Verry sorry to hear about Alex.
I know he answerd a few of my questions.
Thanks all

I was shocked to hear of the passing away of Alex Nichol. Although I did not know
Alex personally, I certainly knew about him and his work, initially through the
Newsgroups. He will be sadly missed.

My condolences to all his family and friends.

Thanks for posting the link to the group, Harry. And thanks to Kurt
(kurttrail)
for your kind words on Alex in a different area. They were read by many and
deeply appreciated.

Alex, in my eyes had a stature and respect unmatched in the groups and is
the ultimate example of the true meaning of an MVP and human being. Plain
and simple, he is
and will always be an ICON to me for his class, dignity, character, genuine
gentlemanly disposition, immense intellect, unselfish "daily" sharing of
remarkable and seamlessly unlimited bounds of knowledge and more......

I have always admired and have had the most utmost respect
for Alex, as there isn't a match. He was larger than life in my earlier
years and my respect and rapport for/with him grew from that. It has been a
great honor to know and work with him. Rest in peace, Alex.....our loss.

It's a shock that in the message areas like this you often tend to
"know" and trust somebody over time even better than you "know" or even
trust some of your relatives or family members that you actually "see"
and/or talk to over the phone. Perhaps it's because you [we] have a
shared hobby or interest in common. Perhaps the printed word is more
powerful than most of us realize.

Exactly, very well said Ed, clearly understood and you are correct. Thanks
for sharing.

During the years, I have been sent numerous emails from many MS folks for
pictures, bio's, posters, chats and interviews and to one of them, I made a
comment similar to: You must think I don't have a life to be online so much
to answer these emails and multitudes of posts and his comment was: But you
do have a life and it is online. Thanks for your time.

Within my online life, Alex was larger than life and had a place within my
heart and family. That said, Alex: Thanks for your time!

ExpertZone has mentioned Alex's passing.

I met Alex some years ago in person. When I got these bad news last
night, I remembered that Alex liked Scotch Malt Whisky very much.
So I left home again, however, all but one shops had already closed.
In that shop, I found a bottle of Scotch Whisky called "Old Boy" so
I took that bottle back home and had a drink on him. In Memoriam,
Good-Bye Alex.
