alert beep

when I log off or shut down from XP, I always get an alert beep. I have
antivirus, adaware and nothing else seems to be wrong with my PC. Any ideas
anyone? Oh by the way, the error beep occurs on all users.

Navigate to control panel/sounds and audio devices/sounds tab
scroll down the events to the events you need such as "exit windows"
or "windows logon".
Do the sound events correspond to what you hear?
