BurnOutPc has a review of the Glow in the dark IDE cables by Akasa. It is an interesting idea for those who like to modify their PC case.

There are some out there who say that there is a performance loss when using rounded cables. I have been using these for a couple of days now, an have not noticed any performance hit. These wires glow nicely in the dark, however don't expect them to glow for hours and hours and hours. I still saw them glowing after an hour or 2 though, but the brightness goes away as time goes on. These cables also glow under uv light, however not as good as others, but they are ok. These are a great product for those who still have the generic flat IDE cables. I cannot wait to see what they come up with SATA when it becomes more mainstream.

If you value your Data …

... then stick with flat ribbon cables until SATA become the norm . ;)
