AIW 9000 Pro won't record

Recently had to reformat and rebuild my XP system.
Downloaded and installed ATI Catalyst 5.11, MMC 9.08, reinstalled DVD
player, and 3.02 for USB remote control.
All seem to be OK.
Can do everything EXCEPT record TV. Bring up MMC TV function, the 'record'
little camera button is functional but clicking on
it causes the tv to flash twice but no recording is started. (This is also
true for trying to record on a schedule, the tv channel comes on
but no record). I cannot find anything in any logs that are reporting
anything wrong.

Using MMC configuration 'PC Check' reports everything OK.

Anyone know what I am missing?

Additional information: I found errorlog.txt that may provide morinformation
on what is going wrong with my package:

There appears to be a missing class and the Failed to connect MUS to File
writer shure seems suspicious

problem is with a directory D:\ATI MMC
this directory appears to be used by MMC as a temporary file holder during
recording. Any attempt to use or delete this directory receives
a 'ACCCESS DENIED' result. I was able to change its name however and then a
new directory was created with the 'ATI MMC' name
and now recording works again. Now to figure out how to get rid of the
'access denied' directory.
