Different ports for different systems. If you could tell us the exact problem
then we could help. In most cases you can assign a port for the app to use in
your firewall settings. Or set permissions for applications in the Firewall.
You could try a port sniffer. I use the free Active Ports myself. TTFN.
I am using Windows XP. My problem is that I keep getting either a message
that states that a firewall is probably blocking this feature or one that
states that the period of time for a reply from the other user has timed out.
Both of us have accepted invitations to a Live IM Video session from the
other. We have disabled our firewalls and still cannot make contact. I had
this issue about 7 years ago. At that time, it was because there was a
partcular port that AOL operates on and I got that port # from a community
newsgroup member. I can't remember it now and AOL will tell you to open ports
1024 through 5000. Don't want to do that.
