After windows updating my internet connection doesn't work

Hi,

I have update my Windows XP professional with windows update including
service pack 2 for windows xp.

Now my Internet Explorer doesn't work . I can ping to my Gateway and my DNS
server but Internet Explorer doesn't work.

Please I need some help.

WinXP SP2: You can go to Start | Run and type
CMD
In the command window type
netsh winsock reset
