After using Disk Cleanup Filenames turned Blue

Hello,

In an attempt to free up some space on my computer, I used Programs,
Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup. Now some of my files (in all
folders) are blue instad of black. Other file names remain black. Any
clues? Thanks

The blue files have been compressed to save space as part of the cleanup
process. Nothing to worry about. If you don't like seeing the different
color, you can change that option from Folder Options>View.

When you did Disk Cleanup, you left the default to compress old files. The
blue files are compressed as a result of that choice you made.

Blue filenames mean the file is compressed. This was already asked and
answered recently: You might want to search newsgroups before posting to
make sure you're not asking a redundant question.

You might wan tto do the same before you answer such an old message. I and
Malke both answered Angie's question *five* days ago.
 
Angie - On 09/28/2009, Bob I wrote the following response which worked for me:

Go to Folder Options, View, and UNcheck the box labeled

"Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color."
 
Please note that this only changes the displayed color of the font, not
the underlying compression or encryption that has been applied.
