After system restore from corrupt registry, cannot login as Admin

Hello, recently my Win XP Pro crashed with the following message:
Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

I followed my search to Microsofts website - Article ID 307545
Based on the document, I completed "Part One" of replacing the files from
the windows\system32\config directory with the ones from windows\restore

On rebooting my machine and going into Safe mode, I was asked to enter an
Administror password. I had never setup an "Administrator" account on my
machine, only user accounts. Pressing the enter key to send a "blank"
password did not work, nor did any of my user passwords. Now I am locked out
from my machine. I hope not to have to re-install windows as I will lose all
my settings. Is there any way for me to recover from this? What is the
default Administrator password for XP Pro?

If it's XP Home the Administrator password is blank unless you set one.
For XP Pro there is no default. It's whatever was assigned when the
OS was installed.

See this for help:
