After moving message to folder, it remains in inbox with line?

When I move a message to a folder out of my inbox, the message remains in the
inbox - grayed out and with a line through it. How can I turn this feature
off?

You have an IMAP mail account? That's normal - IMAP accounts mirror what's
on the mail server, unlike POP accounts which download from the server to
the local file. You can hide marked messages AFAIK.
