Chuck

After i install sp2 on my clinet comp of my network, the internet
stops working on it.The host comp has sp2 installed on it already and
the internet on that is working fine.(using win xp pro on both)

Theres no hardware prob or anything like that, because i used system
restore to get old settings and the internet works fine. the problem
only occurs after i install sp2, i tried turning of firewall and even
used network setup wizard again, but no help.

If any one can help or have any ideas...it would be a great help

thanks

The first thing I would try would be to "repair" the connection. Go to
Network Connections and right click on "Local Area Connection", then
select repair.

I have the similar situation, but I downloaded sp2 awhile ago and just 3 days
ago my periferal computer seems to be blocked from accessing the internet,
and I have tried everything you have done and nothing seems to work. The
wierd thing is that the email works just fine on that computer. Somebody has
to have the answer

Help Please.

Phil

You mention "Server" and "client" PC. Are you sharing your internet
connection from one machine to the other? If so, can you plug both
machines directly into the router and let the router's DHCP handle
configuring the hosts?
