After hitting ALT F9 it still prints page code {PAGE} not page num

I use Office 2000. I have tried to get page numbers to print but it keeps
printing the code {PAGE} instead of the actual page number. It will change
the formatting on the computer screen to the page number though. I have also
unchecked the box under Tools, Options, Field Codes and it still won't print
correctly. Anyone have any suggestions?

In Word, click on Tools | Options | Print tab | uncheck the
"Field codes" box | OK.
