after entering insert function my cells run down and off page

help me find how to stop my cells going down when i am trying to add two
collums together by clicking on insert function and they just go out of sight
i am using excell 2003 it only does it on some worksheets

You might have to provide more detail as to what you do.

For example, you might want to go into this much detail: in cell A3
and A4 I have
values, I highlight cell A1:A2, click on Insert, click on ..., and
this is what happens.
