Have a brandnew vista home premium desktop pc at hand. Even when set to
close down instead of go into sleepmode (in advanced power saving settings),
it keeps rebooting whenever i touch the mouse. What setting do i miss? I
want the pc to close completly as we were used to hen using the xp machine.

thx for all tips

In the system BIOS, make sure "wake on lan" is turned off and be sure there
are not settings in the BIOS to wake the system with a mouse or keyboard
stroke; some newer systems have that option. There is usually a message on
the first boot screen instructing you to hit a specific key in order to
enter setup. When your system boots, make note of that and if you are
unable to move fast enough, reboot, hit the key as instructed. You will
then need to navigate through the various BIOS sections in order to find the
options mentioned.

Thx Michael.
In the bios was a whole range of 'wake ons' enabled. Switching them to
disabled, solved the problem.
