After clearing history... it still shows

I

It's been about a month and a half now. I cleared my
hsitory a month and a half ago, and when you go into the
address bar in IE6, and type lets say "g" a list of
google searches will come up that I had typed a month and
a half ago. I have searched all over my computer and even
in registry for anything pertaining to these searches,
because they are not in my history folder/pane. Has this
happened to anyone else, it's like there are ghost
files... oh and when i click Search in the History Pane
in IE6, and type "google" i find the searches, click the
properties of the searches and it says that the file is
an internet shortcut... but how is that possible when
they are no where to be found...? suggestions for getting
rid of them, cause i'm sick of typing letters and
something else pops up in its place. Thank you!

Hello Ivan,

In Internet Explorer, choose Tools, Internet Options and then the Content
tab.
Click on the "AutoComplete" button and uncheck Web Addresses (and any other
options your don't want IE to remember).
Then go back and "Clear History" again.
