I ran adware and quarantine some objects. However, after that, the IE
cannot work. It appears that the Internet connection is still on.

How to make the IE to work again? Is this a registry issue?

I presume you mean AdAware? What version (you should be using the latest
one - SE), and did you update before scanning?

Run ipconfig /all in a command prompt. Can you ping the default gateway? Can
you ping your DNS server's IP? Can you ping www.yahoo.com?

Could be winsock corruption due to adware removal - if the above fail, see
