Firstly a big thanks to those who helped me solve ny Video card
problems last month.
Now another request please folks.
We foolishly allowed 20 something son to use our computer whilst we
were away and have come home to a fascinating array of pop ups which we
cannot get rid of.
The most common occuring URLS are for: thesecuritytool.com,
entertaintool.com, thespyguard.com, and virusblast.com. The
entertaintool.com URL is always bringing up Adultfriendfinder sites
which is not good with kids in the house.
Additionally to this pestrap.com appears in the systemtray from time to
time but does not appear to be there when we look for it.
We are running Microsoft windowsxp 20002 (service pack 2). We use
Mcafee for anti virus / firewall etc. We have run ad-awareSE also.
We have tried contacting the companies concerned direct to ask for
thier hwelp in removing these, and not surprisingly recieved nothing.
I assume these are run as some sort of executable files ?. We have
tried "banning" the URLs but each URL has a different extension.
Any advise gratefully recieved folks
