hi all!
i recently attempted to flash the bios to the latest version on the above
board,unfortunately even though i thought id disabled antivirus &
firewall,the process was halted halfway through & i got a norton antivirus
warning screen appear.
the system froze & that was that,couldnt clear the bios or force an update
using floppy.
followed advice from msi website,but no luck,got 4 beeps after forcing
update,which is supposed to signal successful update but system still just
sat there,no display & trying to read from floppy drive every 30 seconds or
so.
i understand that i can send the bios chip away & get it reprogrammed,in
fact i think there is a link on msi website.
the problem is the bios chip is soldered on to the mobo which,considering
its fairly new & was quite expensive is to say the least annoying!
does anybody have any suggestions please?
many thanks,
terry.
