I was just wondering what are the advantages for
restarting windows. Thanx

Clearing out the fog that settles in over time. If you were to leave your
system up and running 24/7 for weeks on end, you're bound to have a crash at
some point. If you're lucky, it won't happen at a critical time, but if
you're not, no knowing what you may lose. Rebooting once in awhile just
makes sense and it's not like it takes forever. Reboot when you're taking a
nature break.

were a direct result of my fingers and brain not being synchronized or my
lack of caffeine.

Analogous to dating a woman 20 years younger than your
ex-wife :)

I do it (restart that is) 1/24hrs cause I gotta when I
backup. I think that's rule-of-thumb tho.

Any advice given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS. Personal attacks, nitpicking & criticism
of anything but content will NOT be responded to. Those
posters should spend their time taking the test @

I have read that your machine can eventually run more slowly if it is not
shut down often enough. The article suggested once per week as a good rule.
Personally, I hibernate each night and reboot if there is a problem or I do
a download.

Just like the ole lady. That's why it's good to get a new one every 20
years --
more frequently if you can afford it.

Not according to Peptic X. Ulcerous. This is M$ XPee...it's not "supposed" to
have to be "restarted". How's that for a real farce and a laugh!
