I don't understand why Microsoft don't give options (settings) for more
advanced users. For example System restore -> in XP you can set the storage
it can use in vista it is all automated. It's good to be that priority for
unexpirienced users but for others who then like to set it up like they want
it's better to have mopre options. Or Backup it was much better for more
expirienced users in XP. And so on...
I also ask myself why Microsoft don't develop a download manager for IE
which could then resume downloads and other things

Not sure what you're saying. If you mean assign how much
disk space it uses then you can set that in Vista too.

It's good to be that priority for

For me IE has been playing catch up with Firefox and Opera.
I only use if for MS sites that don't work with FF or Opera.

IMO it really needs some work to compete.

Well i know you could adjust it but only in command prompt (in XP it's
definetely simplier). But for specific folder you cannot turn it on or off,
just for whole disks. Or I don't know how.

What would the point of that be? You did know that System Restore is only
meant to record changes to system files?

Adjusting the amount of disk space it uses is the only useful thing that a
user can adjust.

It would be nice if there was a download manager in IE, but when I am
downloading something big I use Orbit Download Manager. It's free, and can
download in multiple streams, so it can download much faster from large
sites with a lot of capacity that is throttled. It resumes as well of
course, and can also download video streams from some websites. I only run
it when I need it though, as I find it gets in the way with everyday small
downloads.

Be thankful they have not developed a download manager for IE. It
would not work (properly or efficiently), would have security holes
and very likely would prevent 3rd party download managers from being
used.
