Advanced Find Error Outlook 2003

I am not able to use Advanced Find in outlook to search my folders at all
anymore. I am getting the following error and have searched the internet and
the Microsoft knowledgebase with no luck. The only thing I can find is a
Microsoft fix to Run "outlook /closefinders" which I have done and it did not
fix the problem. This is causing me huge problems because I am always
searching my archived email!

There are too many Find Public Folders dialogs open. You must close them in
order to use the Advanced Find. Do you want to close them now?

No matter what I click comes up with the same error:

Outlook cannot perform your search. Outlook cannot display this view. A
folder by this name already exists.

The following Microsoft article appears to address this problem, but the
resolution never works and I keep getting the same error.

Hi,

I've searched for a solution to fix this problem, because I have a customer
with the same problem. And finally I found it by myself.
The method is based on a program named MDBVU32 provided by Microsoft. It
permit to explore deeply Outlook.

Here is a tutorial for how to use it for another problem, but it's like our
situation . http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320022/en-us

So open MDBVU32.exe,press Ok, click on :
MDB->OpenMessageStore ; Select the mailbox which have trouble. press Ok.
Then select MDB->Open Root Folder;

On the finder, in the child windows (on the left). And loof if you have
search folders (Me I had 98 folders...)
Then clic on close, select another time the finder, but do not open it, and
then select the function:
lpFld->EmptyFolder and then press call function (be sure that finder is
selected) and press Ok!

Then close all and try to search for a mail in this mailbox.

For me it was working.
