ADSL traffic monitoring tool

Paul.

I apologise for this being a little off topic but both PCs in question are
running XP Pro.

I use a Netgear 834 router and cant find a traffic monitoring tool for
seeing all up and down traffic over the ADSL connection. As the 834 doesn't
use SNMP the ones I have found don't work.

Thanks.

If you e-mail me I can send you a small (8k) program called NetPerSec that I
got from one of the on-line e-zines (I forget which one). It seems to work
with all connections, even dial-up.

Because it runs in the system tray and gives a constant indication of
incoming and outgoing traffic!

Why "Perfmon" can do the same thing, with more detail, and it comes with
Windows!

So does perfmon, and why have something running all the time. Besides that, you offered a 8k file, which isn't the proggy anyway. It is almost 800KB file, and is no longer free. Besides that, the porgram you offer is not free anymore when getting programs from PCMAG.com, as they now charge for programs to be downloaded from them. That file is proprietary to that site, so you are technically pirating that off.

Sheesh. And to think, he asked for help to begin with....

For what, you bint?
Sheesh. And to think, he asked for help to begin with....

And this goes along with "You're welcome" in what way? You MAY just see that was help, if you read the fü¢king thread! Otherwise, you contributed nicely, as a gormless fü¢ktard would.

I'm sorry, since I am dealing with a retard here, I will use shorter words.

Çünt!

It was free when I downloaded so I do not feel incorrect in offering the
older version that "was" free!

Do as you wish, it still is proprietary, but good luck making an 8k program named "netpersec" work for the OP; the one I saw is 800KBs.

Yes, you are right. It is 800k. I told the gent how to get it!

Well, in any case, for one who get on others for possible piracy, and how you rail on others about agreements and EULAs, you're breaking the EULA of that program. So, do you now say it is ok to give programs away, whether they were free then because of that reasioning, though the over 4 year old EULA states otherwise?

Read:

"1. Limited License

Ziff-Davis grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to
install and use the Software in a single location on a hard disk or
other storage device, and to make a single archival copy of the Software.

Ziff-Davis grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use

any unaltered or altered version of the Software through any means,

name, including without limitation, your name, Ziff-Davis' name or any
third party's name, nor may you distribute or market programs that
contain altered or unaltered portions of the Software's source code.""

Not only does this mean you cannot give it away, but also means any site distributing it, is also breaking the rules. Hopefully, you guided the OP to getting it through proper channels.

So? I saw that site, and they are not abiding by the License contained in that file they offer, they are violating it, or do you allow this despite your crowing about piracy. It is either wrong to violate EULAs and License agreements, or it isn't. The agreement I posted to you comes right from the license listed form that exact install of that exact file from that exact site.

You promote piracy in my eyes, yet you decry such things otherwise!

You're right, of course. Accept my personal apologies!
