ADSL modem setting

My ISP suggested doing the following to get around frequent
disconnection on my ADSL.
Will that be helpful? How do I do this?
Please hlep. Thanks in advance.
Set your PC IP ADDRESS as 192.168.1.2
Netmask as 255.255.255.0
Gateway as 192.168.1.1
Open Internet Explorer and connect to the below URL
http://192.168.1.1
user name- admin
Password - password
DSL setting
Enable the SRA

Need more info.....ADSL w/separate router ?

Disconnect's where ? The ADSL Modem to the ISP front-end ? Or your PC to
the router ?

Is aby of this connected w/USB ? (Hopefully not.)
 
ADSL modem is DareGlobal DB108. It has only one Ethernet port. It is
connected to PC via NIC. PPPOE dialer is used to connect.

Sorry, but I myself fail to see the logic in what the ISP asks, and don't
know too much about PPOE DSL.
 
Go to Settings, Network Connections, right click on the DSL connection,
Properties, Properties of Internet Protocol
