adprep ldap errors

Trying to migrate to Windows 2003 domain from 2000 but
running adprep /forestprep encounters an LDAP error:

Error code: 0x20. Server extended error code: 0x208d,
Server error message: 0000208D: NameErr: DSID-031001BD,
problem 2001 (NO_OBJECT), data 0, best match of:
'CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site-
Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=bch,DC=local'

While searching through the entries with LDP.EXE I found
an old domain controller listed that was removed over a
year ago. I deleted the entry but running adprep shows the
same error. Searching the parent container in LDP.EXE
shows this entry (but can't see it in the left pane):

Dn: CN=IS3\DEL:684bcb34-bc5a-49a1-8587-
a05ca02f2e12,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site-
Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=bch,DC=local

Don't know how to get rid of that and I cannot find any
additional references to the old server. Any ideas?

What specifically were you looking at? Some attribute of some other object?

Did this clear up once the delete replicated around?

No this hasn't cleared up. I only have 2 DCs and I've
searched them both with LDP.exe.

Specifically, I'm receiving an LDAP error when running
adprep. To locate the problem I'm searching with LDAP. I
found an old server there and deleted it but that didn't
fix the problem.

Don't know how to fix this LDAP error.
