Adobe - what gives?

Donna in Idaho

I downloaded what was supposed to be just the graphic to link with Adobe
Reader 7. I now have 23 broken internal hyperlinks & 124 broken external
hyperlinks. All but about 3 or 4 of them are all junk from the Adobe
website. Get palm reader.gif, get symbian reader. gif, etc., etc. Also all
kinds of html files - products, customer registration, etc. etc.!

I also have a bunch of .css files also shown as being from readermain.html.

I'm assuming I can just delete all this crap. Previously I had downloaded
the old Adobe Reader graphic & didn't get all this junk.

Help!

Apparently, the steps you took to "download" "just the graphic" downloaded
copies of much of the web site. As you didn't mention what steps you took, I
can't tell you what you did wrong.

Assuming is probably what got you into trouble in the first place. For
example, I can't make any assumptions as to WHERE you "now have 23 broken
hyperlinks & 124 broken external hyperlinks." You didn't say. As a matter of
fact, you never mentioned anywhere in your message how this has something to
do with FrontPage.

What it has to do with FrontPage is: when I open my website, click on view>
reports> problems> hyperlinks - - I get this long list of broken hyperlinks.

That's because you apparently downloaded the whole page from the adobe site (readermain.html) instead of just adding a hyperlink to
it at
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

I see....you want the button-graphic to make a link on your page, what you
probably didn't do is right click the image, and "save image as...." Sounds
like you wen to File, Save As in your browser and save the whole page.

Well, the remark about what this has to do with FrontPage was purely to
prove a point. The important question was "what steps you took."
