Adobe Acrobat 5.0 not launching for pdf's

I have tried several times to open a PDF file from
several Web sites and have not been able to get Adobe
Acrobat 5.0 to launch automatically. I have looked at
preferences and setting and do not see where to set Adobe
to start/launch automatically when a pdf file is to be
opened from the internet. Any assistance is
appreciated. Thanks.

Note that I found the version 6 to take an unacceptably long time in
loading file after file each time it was used, and have reverted to
5.0.5. SO if you think of upgrading, I suggest retaining your old
version 5 around, in case
