Administrators rights on Windows 2000

Someone has locked my machine and I cant download any new
software as I have no administrator rights. Can I fix this
and get back to being an adminstrator?

You'll need to logon to the machine as the local Administrator user (or a
Domain Administrator if a member of a domain). Then right click My Computer
and select Manage. Expand groups under Local Users and Groups, and add your
account to the Administrators local group.
