administrator rights with norton AV2004

cannot run nortronAV2004. says "this operation has been cancelled...please contact syst. administrator". virus scan said i have "w32.randex.gen." and "w32.hllw.gaobot.gen", but could not delete. how do i gain, administator authority to allow nav2004 to run? also tried to run nav in safe mode but did't work.

Go to Start > Run > control userpasswords2

Click your user account and select properties.
Choose groups tab, 'Other' and in the dropdown menu select
'Administrators'
This should give your account administrative privileges.
