Administrator Permission to Save File

I

Irish

I just purchased an HP laptop for my personal home use. I
am a WinXP Home "computer administrator" and the only
user. I backed up my Money 2004 Standard file from my
Dell desktop to a CD-RW and successfully restored it to
Money 2004 on my laptop. Now I'm trying to back up the
data to the same CD but when I click on save the
following dialog box opens:

My Money Backup 0.mbf
You do not have permission to save in this directory.
See the administrator to obtain permission.

Would you like to save in the My Documents folder instead?
Yes/No

I don't get this dialog box when backing up to a CD on my
desktop, obviously, so I assume this is an issue with my
laptop user accounts.

I had the same problem when using the Import/Export
Wizard to import my MSIE favorites bookmark.htm file.

Thanks for any help,
Paul

Make sure that you remove the read-only attribute. All files copied from
CD are marked read-only. You have to turn it off.

Something's not right with my laptop. I just removed the
CD, placed it in my desktop drive and was able to remove
the read-only attribute. WinXP Home on both computers.

You can't remove the read-only attribute of the file while it's on the
CD. You have to copy it to your hard drive first.
