administrator password

Since I've had this laptop, when I log on - I get a
screen that tells me I'm logging in as the
administrator. While there is a place to enter the
password , I didn't know the passwork so I just
hit "enter". All worked well. Todauy I downloaded some
Adobe softward and it won't let me use it until I log in
as the administrator - so I assume I need the
administrators password. this PC is my own personal
laptop - only netowrked with my own personal desktop.

When you installed XP you had to select a user name ... that would be
an account with "Administrator" rights. When you log on, do a
Ctrl-Alt-Del and hold it until you are offered another choice (your
user name that you chose when you installed XP) ... type in that
password and then go and assign a password for "Administrator".
