Administrator password

What can I do when we have forgotten the administrator
password? It has been almost a year since I was on my
wife's computer and need to install software. Of course,
she cleaned up her desk area and threw away the notebook I
had listed all the passwords in. Can anyone help???PLEASE

There are actual comercial tools available that will
recover administrator passwords. For example,
http://www.crackpassword.com, but you can find others
using Google.

I've had success using the "Offline NT Password & Registry Editor" to change the password for the Administrator account. Daniel Petri also has a good article covering the same topic. Both are found at http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm.
