Administrator password problem

I am the administrator for my computer and the only user.
I am trying to uninstall XP and format my harddrive
before re-installing XP (long story). I used the XP cd to
get to the recovery console and it asked for the
administrator password. When I enter it I am told that
this is not the password. I'm stuck. Is there another
administrator password I don't know about. Please, help?
