Ive been reimaging some of our servers and for some reason every time i go
thru sysprep finish up reboot the servers and try to log on locally as
administrator... the servers will not take the password . Im part of the
admin group and i use my logon to add the server to the domain.
i dont have the dc administrator password. the administrator say that
they dont have this problem. but every server i image and give it a
password..reboot and can not get in.... i think it changing to the dc admin
password ..and this is why the NA never get the problem...because it may be
changing to the password that he is puting in the first place. Please help
me out on this.....we are running all 2000 servers

I would imagine it's looking for the password that was in
effect the time of the original image.

try this :
Q321305 How to Log On to Windows XP If You Forget Your
Password
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-
US;Q321305

http://securityadmin.info/faq.htm#password

Reboot to Safe Mode, select Administrator, leave password
blank.
Then go to User Accounts in Control Panel and
delete/change the
password.

You do not need to reinstall if you forgot the admin or
any other password.

There is a boot disk you can download at:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html

that will let you reset the password of any account on
NT4, Windows2000 or
XP.

Just follow all the default settings which are for the
admin account.

For an Win2k AD domain controller, you need to do more
than that:
