Administrator logon freezes

When I set up a friends computer with WinXP Home, I
created renamed the Administrator's account and created
another account with Administrator privileges. Every
thing worked fine for about 6 months, then, when an
Administrator account tries to logon, it freezes with the
desktop background, no taskbar or desktop icons. I've
tried system restore and system repair with the WinXP CD
to no avail. Any suggestions other than a rebuild?

you need to provide more info.
.
I renamed the Administrator to Guvner and created an
account with my logon and made myself a member of the
Administrator's group. After about 6 mos., my client
called to say they couldn't logon on "Guvner" (renamed
administrator). I couldn't logon onto my own account as
a member of administrator group users. The logon process
seems to proceeds normally until the desktop theme
appears and then freezes. There are no desktop icons or
taskbar. Reboot is the only options.

All other users can logon fine and use applications. But
they can't install, etc.
