Administrator access rights

Although I am the only administrator for my PC and all other users, including
the PC account are standard users I still get the message "is it alright to
coontinue" when I wish to perfom an action. In addition I was prevented from
downloading real player by 'not having sufficient rights' - and this is what
has prompted me to post this thread.

I have been into control panel and confirmed that I am the only
administrator and removed the password from the 'machine' account.

Have I set the system up wrong somewhere and how may I rectify it?

No, your OS is performing exactly as designed, so there's not really
anything to "rectify," just to learn.
