administrative rights

I'm having trouble using the LiveUpdate feature of a
utility. According to what I see through regedt32, my
account has Full Control and Read rights, but when the
update program runs, it tells me I do not have the
necessary rights. Their tech folk tell me I must run the
update while in the Administrator account, but this
account appears to be available only in Safe Mode, and I
cannot use my modem in Safe Mode. This seems to be a
classic Catch-22. Can anybody shed light on this problem?

Dear Kelly,

Yes, I first tried through my personal account, which
according to regedt32 has Full Control and Read rights.
This got the insufficient rights messages, and led to
trying the Administrator account. No go.

Hi Lee,

Have you tried running it from an account with admin privileges other than
the system admin account?
