I have had a problem installing a couple of products, latest is QuickTime. I
download OK but at the end of install I am told that I do not have
administator priliges.

I can do have myself set as the admin and can change others access rights on
my DELL laptop. Any Suggestions?

Hi there Johnboy,

Right click on My Computer, and click on Manage.
Click on the + next to Local Users and Groups.
Click on Users.
In the right pane, right click on your user ID and left click on properties.
Click on the Member Of tab.
Check in the list and see if there are more restrictive user groups under
the list than administrators. (ie- users, guests, etc.)
Remove them so only the Administrators group remains.
Click on apply, then log out of the machine and back into it.

If this does not fix the problem, you may have a virus or malware causing
the issue. Reboot the machine and press F8 before the windows splash screen.
Log into safe mode and run your anti-virus and anti-spyware applications.

Let us know if it works!

Best Regards,

~Will
